NOTE: NO CATS OR SMALL KIDS; prefers women and working on de-sensitizing on collar reactiveness!

Alexander is a 3.5 year old handsome blue-eyed boy! He is playful and sweet with his humans and foster siblings. He is not super fond of cats. AlitaALITA
Sex: Female
Age: 3 yr old (est 3/2017)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: AVAILABLE
NOTE: No CATS or SMALL DOGS! NEEDS a doggie playmate!

Alita is one spunky little girl that comes with a little attitude and a lot of character. She is 3 years old and loves to play with big dogs (not ideal for a family that includes small dogs/animals). She does need a doggie playmate or a good outlet for energy… because she can drive you crazy in the name of love! She will likely always leak some and seems to be prone to frequent UTIs which will require a urine analysis and culture to determine which antibiotic isn't resistant to it. Other than the leaking and UTIs she's a healthy, playful, wonderful little lady that has been through a lot in her short life, but she has a whole lot more heart to give. Malachi (my Angel in Hebrew) is a young (3 yrs. old) gorgeous male who is sweet, laid back yet can be playful. He is an insecure dog who doesn't need or want to interact with dogs until he has a chance to get to know them a little better. He would be best as an only dog but with a good introduction and some patience he can coexist with other fur pals. He is NOT a dog park or event dog...right now but he has potential to be in the distant future. Click here to view his pictures on Facebook!

PARFAIT
Sex: Female
Age: 3-5 yr old (est 4/2017)
Breed: Siberian Husky

Sweet Parfait has gone from being sad and sick to being quite the sassy pants! While her bloodwork is better, she still has a way to go before she is completely healthy. Parfait is looking for a foster that can offer her a quiet and low maintenance home where she can enjoy warm snuggles, good food, and can finish getting better. Due to her kidney disease and the recommendation by the vet at A&M she will do the slow kill treatment for her heartworms and will not be spayed at this time; therefore she will be a long term foster. SARAI
Sex: Female
Age: 2 yrs old (est 8/2016)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: AVAILABLE
NOTE: No small kids, prefer experienced dog/husky owner

"I am still frightened of new people and other animals, I am learning on how to trust again. It takes me a while to warm up, so I would have to meet you many times to know you are someone I would like to hang out with. Saturday off leash dog socials are really fun, the humans just ignore me, but I do not like the other dogs getting too close to my foster mom. I have to protect her you know! I love a great game of tug of war, I can play until your arm falls off. Stuffed animal toys are really fun I love to through them up in the air and tear the stuffing out of them. “I do not know who made that mess, I think it was the cat” I like kitties but they do not understand why they will not play chase with me. Why do they run and hide? I love to go for car rides, I am trying to practice my culinary skills in the kitchen.. however the items never seem to stay on the counter. How do they just disappear? I love hunting lizards and will dig to China just to attempt to find one I spotted. Flying insects are pretty cool too, see me jump mom? I am pretty clever… I know how to sit, shake, and learning to lay down. I love belly rubs and relaxing in the recliner with or without my human. The tile floor is my favorite chill spot. Being a Princess, I really love shoes especially the leather kind. Even though I cannot wear them they taste yummy. I know how to wait to go potty outside but when I am not happy I will leave you a present. I understand the meaning of no but sometimes you just have to be your own girl! Princesses have privileges! I love to go on walks on the leash… dragging my foster mom really gives me a great workout. I am not too picky when it comes to food, I pretty much like anything especially the yummy food the humans eat… what do you mean this is not for dogs? Did you say DQ, a small vanilla ice cream cone is the best on a hot day!" Click here to view her pictures on Facebook!

SOUFFLE
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years old (est 11/2016)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: AVAILABLE

Need Gentle Kisses? Then Miz Souffle is the lil' Southern Lady for you!!! Super sweet and gentle with everyone, she is a favorite with whomever meets her and at Doggie Daycare. She may have had a broken pelvis but this girl takes it in stride and enjoys her walks, daycare activities and running in the yard teasing her foster sister Noshy. Let me clarify the last bit, she teases Noshy then runs away to hide behind me :P Note: with humans she can be mouthy and grab your hand in play but will not break skin. And you should see her stamp her little paws when playing with her foster brother Max - you could just die of cuteness overload!!! She knows how to use a dog door, is leash trained and will come (90% of the time) when called. With an open gate you need to watch her like a hawk as she will try to run past you for a walk about the neighborhood - Souffle 2, Humom 0. She is not a jogging buddy due to her old injuries but she loves a good walk where she can try to chase squirrels or cats. Yup she has high prey drive - no little critters in her future furever family. It would be great if she had some human or fur siblings to keep her company in her new home as she is very social - once she gets to know you. She would not do well with very Hyper Dogs or Children. If you need some good old Southern Lovin, Paw Stompin Cuteness then Miz Souffle is the lil' lady for you!!!! Click here to see her pictures on Facebook!

TUCKER2
Sex: Male
Age: 1 yr old (est 10/2016)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: AVAILABLE
NOTE: NO YOUNG KIDS, SMALL DOGS or CATS! Needs space to run or go running with a human and an experienced husky owner!

Meet Tucker! This handsome hound was rescued from a shelter, where he was running out of time. Now, he is hanging out with us until he finds a new home! Tucker is looking for a family who knows and understands the Husky breed! To learn more, see Dog's 101 at https://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/dogs-101/videos/siberian-husky.
This pretty boy is ALL athlete, and a true testament to his breed. He loves to run, and never tires so for those of you who are already on the trails, or looking to get off the couch more, this boy would make an excellent partner. He excels at just about anything including hiking, biking, trailing, swimming, and boating! He is ALL husky, and is your average build at around 50 lbs. He loves to talk, as most of his breed do, and enjoys engaging in adorable conversations that seem to turn pretty one sided near the end of it! He is extremely smart, and learns quickly! Though as they say, you can't outsmart a husky, they can be stubborn when they want to! Not to worry though, Tucker has manners and for the majority of the time, knows how to use them!
He gets along well with most dogs, but can be a typical jester. He can pick on them at times when the play is over, as most huskies do, but a game of tag, keep away or fetch always grabs his attention! As most of his breed, he can be over confident and driven so a home without cats would be best for Tucker, since prey drive is common with his breed. As for children, like most Huskies they enjoy children because they themselves are pretty childish in personality and nature. However, we prefer a home who has experience with this breed, as they can be mouthy in their play. So older children or those with breed experience, is preferred! Originally adopted 7/25/2016; returned 9/25/2016.Click here to view his pictures on Facebook!

Sex: Female

Are you looking for the rare husky that is calm and laid back? Then meet Whitnee! She prefers to be the only furkid, as she is calm, but will tolerate fur siblings. She does enjoy her walks, but otherwise likes to relax and get belly rubs. She is super sweet and laid back so if you are looking for someone to just hang out with then this lady is your gal.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!

STORMIE
Sex: Female
Age: 11 yrs old (est 6/2016)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: Forever in our Hearts! 5/27/2017

Stormie is a super sweet, laid back senior (11yrs old) who found herself in doggie jail (HCPHES) about a month ago getting lost in the storms. Her owners didn't reclaim her (UGH!) so she was adopted despite being HW+! YAY! Unfortunately tho, it wasn't the right pack for her as the younger, more playful resident dogs didn't like her much and it was a bit chaotic with a young child too. We took her into rescue despite her age and high heartworm positive status! She is in a foster home with 2 other fur-kids, one of which is really showing her the ropes. She also isn't phased by the cats!! Yay!! She does have crate and separation anxiety. :-( 12/2016 she is now light HW+! Click here to view her pictures on Facebook!

CatoCATO
Sex: Male
Age: 8 years old (est 8/2014)
Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Status: Forever in our Hearts! 10/28/2016
NOTE: MUST HAVE stay-at-home humans!

Cato is a senior malamute (est 10-12yrs old) who loves being with humans!! He is an expert at escaping crates and opening closed doors and causing destruction! He has terrible separation anxiety so he would need a home with humans that like to stay home a lot! With a human at home, he is not destructive!! He is a big cuddle bug and really just needs a place to hang out and take naps! Click here to view his pictures on Facebook!

ELIAS
Sex: Male
Age: 2 years old (est 12/2015)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: Forever in our Hearts! 12/9/2015

Welcome Elias named in honor of the guy who declared the Thanksgiving observance! Elias was rescued from Dallas Animal Shelter. He's about 2 years old, was getting restless in the kennel and had an injured paw but he seems to be doing fine now after a few days of pain meds. He's not a fan of the crate but his foster mom is working on it. Click here to view his pictures on Facebook!

asteriaASTERIA
Sex: Female
Age: 1 yr old (est 5/2015)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Status: Forever in our Hearts! 10/27/2015

And sometimes, they completely break my heart. :-( Adorable little Asteria is in the beginning stages of liver failure. It's a congenital issue with her vessels and there is nothing medically or surgical that can be done to "fix" her. The problems with her liver have caused her to develop a serious case of e Coli as well as a blood clotting deficiency and an elevated level of ammonia in her blood. Because of the clotting deficiency, she will not undergo any kind of surgery including being spayed. She is on two medications to protect her liver, an antibiotic for the bacterial infection and one to remove the excess ammonia from her blood. Eventually, the medications will no longer be enough. The vets at A&M have said that she might have 6 months to a year to live, but that's always just a guess. The good news is that right now she feels awesome, has a good appetite, and her skin and coat are looking much better. Click here to see her pictures and progress on Facebook!
